We thrive to come up with a way to minimise stubble burning by effective use of stubble remains as industrial raw material as this would help in controlling environment degradation to some extent and hence solve the problem of stubble burning ,thus enabling the farmers to generate income, provide employment opportunities to people of the affected regions and make their fields ready for the next crop in time.
Stubble burning is a major problem in the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana and one of the major problems faced by our environment. It emits carbon sinks in air causing pollution which is harmful for human-beings as well as flora and fauna in and around the affected region .
"Harvesting change: Stopping stubble burning one farm at a time."
"The hidden costs of stubble burning: Beyond the flames."
There is an immediate need to monitor stubbleburns so that effective measures could be taken to protect our environment from such a global menace.
Management of stubble is really a complex and time-consuming task for farmers. They do not have enough time to make the fields ready for next crop. Farmers prefer the cheap and easy way out that is burning the stubble. Also, poor storage facilities for straw, high labour cost and lack of market utilities of residue forces them to burn the stubble in the fields to get rid of it.
