Council 9022 History

Knights of Columbus Council 9022 is dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. With the prodding of Brother Al DiFranco, a group of parishioners, who belonged to another Council, applied for a charter as a new council at St. Elizabeth Seton Church. On June 7, 1985, Supreme Knight Virgil Dechant signed the Charter establishing Council # 9022 in Rancho LaCosta. Fifty-one men were charter members.

In the years since, our Council has grown to over 200 members. We have won three Star Council awards, six Father McGivney founder's Awards, four Columbian Awards, four Keep Christ in Christmas Awards and 4 awards for the Council's Website! We have been Vocation Sponsors since inception and are currently sponsoring 5 Seminarians in our Diocese.

Our thanks to Brother Cannon+, Past Grand Knight, for this history.

Our Council

Council 9022 serves St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Carlsbad California. We assist the surrounding community by providing funds and manpower for charitable activities and fund raisers. Social and spiritual fellowship is promoted among members and their families.

Our council hosts a number of council activities throughout the year, including social, educational and fundraising functions to support our charitable efforts.

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month. We start in the Chapel with the Rosary at 6:15 followed by a Faith Formation discussion. It is based on our Supreme Chaplain's monthly article in Columbia magazine. Our Business Meeting normally begin at 7:00PM in the St. Elizabeth Parish Center. However, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, some meetings are held online.
