A mention about 3rd and 4th Degree Membership Cards by Color Corps Commander Sir Ed Brancheau:

Several years ago, the writer Sir Ed had trouble printing membership cards correctly from Officers Online, so he used his own database and Microsoft Word mail merge to print them, though those required signatures from the Grand Knight and Financial Secretary to be official.

Currently, membership cards no longer require those signatures and can be generated through Officers Online, which automatically includes the Supreme Knight’s signature. However, only up to 3rd Degree status can be printed by the Financial Secretary; 4th Degree status must be issued separately by the assembly Comptroller.

Because of this, he now prints cards through Officers Online, and 4th Degree members will receive their card from their assembly Comptroller.

He also shares that at a past State Convention, he was initially denied credentials because his card showed 4th Degree status (which he had printed himself as Financial Secretary). Since then, he ensures his card shows 3rd Degree status to avoid similar issues.
