The duration of each judo school class is one hour. We have our red belts beginners who complete a modified Kiwi Judo programme, and then Junior and Intermediate sessions for those who are wanting to continue the Judo journey. We follow the teaching and grading syllabus of Judo NZ. The Senior session is focused on kata development, and specific waza in preparation for 2 kyu grading.
Safety is always our first priority and we plan accordingly with the activities and techniques taught in each session. Judo is a contact sport and injuries may occur, which is why we ask parents to complete a enrolment form and provide us with contact details.
Fees are payable in advance, at the beginning of a term. An invoice will be emailed at the beginning of the new term. There will be a payment for grading which will be invoiced with the appropriate term account.
If a student wishes to participate in competitions, or to have their grades officially registered and recognised by Judo NZ, there will be an annual fee to join Judo NZ.
Grading for lower level students are done twice a year, normally in the second and fourth term. Each successful student will get a certificate after each grading in recognition of their achievement. This is an in club grade. Players need to be registered with Judo NZ for an annual fee of $91.00 for grades to be officially recognised.
Please contact us if you have any questions. We hope the experience of keeping active through judo will be enriching for your child.
