Join Us For A WILD CLAY WORKSHOP In September
A great time was had by all, and soon Riana started offering clay workshops on a more regular basis.
A move to Homtini Farm in Rheenendal (Knysna rural), a piece of breathtaking land nestled among indigenous Knysna forest, with an abundance of beautiful, wild terracotta clay saw things fall into place beautifully.
Wild clay workshops were then added to Riana's clay offerings.

Positive health outcomes have been linked to the amount of time a person spends in green environments, suggesting that simply walking or sitting among trees can lower anxiety, boost mood, and improve overall quality of life. This connection to nature seems to offer a gentle, accessible form of healing.
Forest therapy has shown promise in managing challenges like anxiety, depression, and burnout, while also benefiting physical health. Research indicates improvements in immune function, cognitive clarity, blood pressure, and even recovery from illness. Surgical patients exposed to green views have experienced faster recovery times and reduced mortality rates, highlighting the profound impact nature can have on healing.
Despite the growing evidence, forest therapy hasn’t yet been fully embraced by healthcare professionals. Interestingly, while the concept began in the West, it was Japanese researchers who formalized the practice of “shinrin-yoku,” or forest bathing - the act of immersing oneself in the forest atmosphere and breathing in its healing air. Their work inspired further research across Asia and Europe, deepening our understanding of nature's role in health and well-being.
