Welcome to the Lab of Molecular Epigenetics

The L.M.E. aims to elucidate the role of epigenetics in cellular aging for rejuvenation and in cancer for treatment. Specifically, we are focused on investigating novel histone modifications, such as histone sumoylation and acylation, and conducting single-cell analyses to unravel the correlation between epigenetics and cell heterogeneity.

세포 노화로 인한 생명의 한계는 기초생명과학이 직면한 가장 근본적이고 궁극적인 질문 중 하나입니다. 이에 따라 세포의 노화 조절 메커니즘을 밝히고, 후성유전학적 리프로그래밍을 통해 노화를 극복하는 것이 최종 목표입니다. 특히 노화 및 암을 포함한 다양한 질병의 치료가 어려운 이유는 질병 세포의 특성과 상태가 각기 다르기 때문입니다. 이러한 세포 간 이질성 문제를 극복하기 위해 후성유전학 연구를 단일세포 수준에서 진행하여 차세대 질환 연구에 적용하고자 합니다.
