Freedom of Speech and Expression
Students can express themselves through speaking, writing, wearing expressive clothing (as long as it's not disruptive), and forming groups, but schools can restrict speech that is lewd, vulgar, or substantially disrupts the school environment or violates the rights of others.
Right to Education
All students, regardless of background or status, have the right to a quality, fair, and balanced education.
Students with disabilities have the right to equal access to all educational opportunities and necessary accommodations.
Schools cannot discriminate based on race, color, national origin, gender, or gender identity, and dress codes must be enforced equally and cannot be based on sex stereotypes.
