Hello! I'm Koustav Mondal, a mathematician whose interests span research, teaching, and the occasional computational rabbit hole. Starting in Fall 2026, I will be an Instructor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of South Alabama.
I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Louisiana State University, where I had worked with Dr. Fang-Ting Tu and Dr. Gene Kopp. Before that, I completed a BS–MS dual degree at IISER Bhopal. For my Master's thesis, I worked with Prof. Ajit Bhand on universal quadratic forms, a topic that sparked my deeper interest in number theory and algebra.
I enjoy exploring beautiful mathematical ideas, helping students discover the elegance of mathematics, and learning new things both inside and outside the classroom. Feel free to browse this site to learn more about my research, teaching, and academic journey.
Here is my current CV.
