This CAPS lesson plan template resource was taken from twinkl site and has been designed specifically for South African teachers, to help them easily plan lessons around the CAPS curriculum.

Why is planning a CAPS Curriculum lesson important?

Teachers who plan lessons ahead of time before arriving in the classroom each day are fully prepared to teach new concepts and lead meaningful discussions, rather than trying to figure out content during class. Without a lesson plan, students may lose focus quickly, and teachers may find themselves scrambling to figure out what to do next. Having a lesson plan can help a teacher:

• Approach each lesson with confidence

• Keep learning consistent

• Improve their lacking skills

• Align learning with standards

A strong lesson plan also brings together teachers from different grades and subject areas to look at the overall picture of student learning. Teachers can collaborate to develop a plan on helping each other and make the lesson effective for a student's performance.
