❤️🔥 Sizing: The little # on the plastic tab is the size of the nail. You want to pick a size that covers your nail bed, but doesn't touch your skin. Our nails are flexible at the bottom and will spread out, so when you're sizing, make sure you press the nail down firmly to see how wide it spreads. If you're in between sizes, it's best to size down so there's no contact with your skin. You can also size up and file down the sides. Note: the end with the number tab is applied down (at the cuticle)!
❤️🔥 Prep Your Nails: Cut/trim your nails down. Next, make sure you push back your cuticles and remove all cuticle from the nail bed. Use cuticle remover if you need to (can be purchased on Amazon or at the grocery store).
❤️🔥 Wash Your Hands: After trimming your nails and pushing back your cuticles, wash your hands with dish soap. This will remove excess oil on your fingers and help the adhesive stick.
❤️🔥 Prime Your Nails: After washing your hands with dish soap, use the included alcohol prep pad and thoroughly wipe each nail bed. You should wipe your nails until they are squeaky dry, get them good! Then apply *one* thin layer of our "Prime Suspect" primer (if you have it). Allow Prime Suspect to dry for about 5 minutes before continuing.
❤️🔥 Warm It Up: Warm your hands and the nails to help the adhesive stick better. Lay the nails on a heating pad while you're prepping your nails, or use a hair dryer. After your nails are on you can go over them again with a hair dryer too, and then press down again.
❤️🔥 Angle & Slide: Apply at a 45-degree angle, sliding the nail under your cuticle/skin for a natural look, and then pressing down. Press and hold each nail (the entire nail, not just the middle of the nail) for 60 seconds before you move on to the next nail.
❤️🔥 Night Time is Prime Time: Apply before bed to give the adhesive time to set.
❤️🔥 Avoid Water: Try to keep your hands out of water for the first 2-3 hours after you apply, to really give that adhesive a chance to stick (hence why it's good to apply right before bed)!
❤️🔥 Adhesive Facts: The smart adhesive on the back of our press-ons hardens over 48-72 hours, but stays flexible. The adhesive is pressure sensitive, so pressing down on your nails the first 48 hours can help it bond. Occasionally, you might feel a little movement - that's totally normal and actually helps prevent them from popping off.
❤️🔥 Bonus Tips:
Press them down a few times a day for the first couple of days. It really helps them mold perfectly to your natural nails.
If you have a lot of adhesive left on the press-on due to having short natural nails, you can go over it with a coat of top coat. This will help prevent having sticky residue under there. You can also pick it off, but don't attempt this for the first few days while the adhesive is bonding.
Greasy foods or oil can loosen the adhesive.
Speaking of oil, if you typically use cuticle oil, you'll want to think about switching to a water-based serum or cream instead. Our H2Glow is the perfect water-based serum to add to your routine to keep those cuticles hydrated and healthy!
If you're someone with super oily cuticles/hands or you've struggled to keep press-ons on in the past, you can use a hair dryer to heat up your nails after you apply them and then re-press them down.
