The main channel for communication among KlebClub members is a Slack workspace (klebclub.slack.com). This workspace is intended to connect the Klebsiella research community to enhance access to resources, tools, and community. This is not a space for personal solicitation, criticism, or discussion of topics that do not apply to the Klebsiella research community. The community guidelines the Slack workspace organizers will use to moderate the KlebClub are outlined below. We hope that these guidelines create clear expectations about the use of this resource to grow and support the Klebsiella research community. Please note that violation of these guidelines is adjudicated at the discretion of the Slack workspace organizers, and violation may lead to expulsion from the Slack workspace.
1. All comments or posts should be kind, respectful, constructive, and professional. Comments or posts that are deemed to be unprofessional, disrespectful, or inappropriate will be removed. Discussion is encouraged, but everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. Additionally, please be charitable. People have varying communication styles and not everyone is using their native language, which can obscure meaning and tone.
2. Any personal comments or posts that are not appropriate for the workplace will be removed.
3. Solicitation will be removed. Asking for help or advice is appropriate; however, requests for professional or commercial accommodations will be removed.
4. Any comments or posts concerning controversial or polarizing topics unrelated to Klebsiella research will be removed. Please do not post political or other divisive material.
5. Before you DM someone, please ask their permission in a public channel. We encourage connection, but harassment will not be tolerated. If you receive unsolicited DMs, please report it to an organizer via Slack DM.
6. Self-promotion should be limited to scientific content and reserved for the appropriate channel. Personal self-promoting posts outside of relevant channels will be removed.
7. Job posts and responses will be limited to the appropriate channel. Job posts should always link to an official job posting or relevant contact information. Slack should never be used as an official space for screening, hiring, interviewing, or any other employment decision.
8. Please use the correct channel and do not post the same thing in multiple channels. Additionally, spam posts and guest posts will be removed.
9. Do not use @here and @channel. Organizers will use those to share updates, but they should not be used to draw attention to your posts.
10. As the Slack workspace and Klebsiella research community evolve, the organizers will update the community guidelines. The most up-to-date version of the community guidelines can be found in the “# community guidelines” channel.
