I am Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Kassel, Research Professor at the ifo Institute in Munich and CESifo Research Affiliate.

My research focus is on economic policy, public economics, macroeconomics and economic growth, applied econometrics & data science.

I serve as a member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Political Economy. Before joining the University of Kassel, I was visiting professor at the University of Konstanz, Assistant Professor at ifo and LMU Munich, and Deputy Head of the Center for Public Finance and Political Economy at ifo.
