I am Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Kassel, Research Professor at the ifo Institute in Munich and CESifo Research Affiliate.

My research focus is on macroeconomics, public economics, applied econometrics & data science.

I serve as a member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Political Economy. During the winter term 2022/2023, I was visiting professor at the University of Konstanz. Before I was a professional musician for 17 years (and keep on touring occasionally).
