We are so very proud to host a special screening of the powerful documentary, The Librarians, directed by Academy Award® nominee and Peabody Award-winning Kim A. Snyder. This film highlights the crucial role librarians play in defending democracy and our First Amendment rights. It follows librarians on the front lines as they push back against an unprecedented wave of book challenges and bans, often fueled by White Christian Nationalism.
The documentary features Florida public school librarian Marie Masferrer, who will be joined by panelists and Kentucky librarians Carrie Wilkerson, winner of the Kentucky Association of School Librarians Intellectual Freedom Award, and Mark Adler, winner of the Kentucky Library Association Intellectual Freedom Award, for a post-screening discussion.
