The 2026 theme is “Joyful Libraries: Restored, Renewed, Reunited.” This joint conference with SELA will highlight the ways in which academic, public, school, and special libraries are restoring hope, renewing their missions, and reuniting people with the resources, relationships, and joy that libraries have always made possible.
The program will include presentations, interactive workshops, roundtables, lightning talks, and posters that address, but are not limited to, the following topics:
Using statistics, data, and other measures to show the library’s impact
Advocating for libraries and the communities we serve
Innovating library programs and services to strengthen our relevance
Engaging our communities in the mission of the library
Utilizing creative platforms and techniques to communicate the library’s story
Collaborating with stakeholders to foster positive connections to the library
Session types include:
Presentation (45 minutes) - A straightforward presentation that includes time for Q&A and may contain some elements of interactivity
Interactive Workshop (45 minutes) - A facilitated learning experience that includes "hands-on" experience for attendees
Roundtable (45 minutes) - A conversational exploration of an important/timely topic facilitated by the presenter
Lightning Talk (5 minutes) - Short, focused presentation to share a single idea or piece of information; lightning talk presenters will be limited to a single slide for their presentation
Poster (Posters will be displayed throughout the conference, with a dedicated hour for attendees to discuss posters with presenters) - A visual representation of research or work you want to share.
Proposals are due by Friday May 1.
