Selection for the Canadian Physics Olympiad is based on the CAP exam in April, practice with previous exams.

April: grade 11 and 12 US based contest: AAPT where you compete against students from around the world, practice with previous exams.

May: AAPT also runs a High School Physics Photo contest, submit a photo with an explanation.

May: Sir Isaak Newton contest SIN - will only run if there is strong interest as it usually conflicts with the start of IB exams

Contest club:

Physics Contest Club meets at lunch in room A317 or A210, usually from January to May, but will start earlier if there is interest. E-mail Mr. Klaassen, aklaassen@vsb.bc.ca, if you want to be an organizer.

Enrichment:

The Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics offers lots of opportunities, including a summer study session with Physics experts.

A engineering focused summer program, Shad Valley is a great opportunity.  Applications open in September and close in November.

Triumf , the particle accelerator at UBC, offers a wide variety of enrichment, ranging from Saturday Lectures to a fellowship for a top physics student (congrats Michael 2019) to a masterclass: 

If you like kids, you can volunteer or work at UBC physics camps.
