Worth 20% of your overall grade.
A hard copy of all boldface problems are due in class on the day indicated. All other problems are highly recommended for full comprehension of the material.
It is highly recommended that you attempt all of the homework problems on your own. Then try to work through them as a group or in office hours. Do not use AI for the homework problems. The only value you can get from a graduate education in mathematics is the ability to think. Using AI to solve these problems will dramatically interfere with your ability to learn this information properly. Because of this homeworks will not solely be graded on perfect accuracy of the solutions.

Read class notes/text before and after each class.
Prove any theorems and try all excercies not covered in lecture after each class.
Make flashcards of key terms and theorems.
