- Spain is divided in 17 "Comunidades autónomas" (regions) - EA1 to EA7-.
- Two of these regions, Islas Canarias (EA8) and Islas Baleares (EA6) are islands.
- Each "Comunidad autónoma" has one or more "provincias" (provinces). There are 50 provinces (and two autonomous cities, Ceuta y Melilla - EA9-).
