Title : Swarming and its control

Swarming is self-organizing collective motion often observed in nature. A global spatio-temporal pattern emerges from mutual interactions between living organisms. Simple rules using local information contribute to the robustness, adaptability, and scalability of swarming. In this talk, examples of attempts to organize and control swarming behavior to accomplish a given goal will be presented.

 Keynote Speech 2

Title : AI Technologies for the Font Generation and Typography Related Issues

Creating fonts or designing typography on posters has traditionally required human hands. However, with the recent development of artificial intelligence technologies, not only the creation of pictures but also these typography design areas are being automated. So, I will introduce the research trend of AI applications on typography. First, research is actively underway to automatically generate the entire letters from a small number of letter samples. This is specially required in CJK fonts with a large number of letters. Next, research is underway to find similar fonts from images of given letters or to recommend fonts that match the emotion of a given text or image. Lastly, style transfer research is also underway to apply various style effects from given letters to other letters.

Technical Program is now availabe (2024/1/11)
