Global Project

Project Description:

This project involved researching a country of our choosing (I chose Colombia) and finding demographics information. After creating a word document "fact sheet", we found a partner to collaborate on creating a presentation with.  Damien chose Ghana and so our presentation compares the two countries.

Interesting Facts:

What amazed me most was how diverse Colombia is landscape wise.  There are mountains, valleys and ocean.  It's cited as being the country with the most domestic air travel as the roads can be dangerous and with the dramatic landscape air travel is safer and easier.  Ghana is another country I transperently knew little about before this project.  It was interesting to see in the age breakdown that Ghana is a very young country- almost 40% of it's population is younger than 15 years of age.  

Lessons Learned:

This project refreshed me on how to do academic research- it's been a long time since I've had to use citations and research information in this way.  It also reminded me that digital collaboration is very easy once the accesses are set correctly.  I had a few missteps in attempting to share my documents, this was helpful for learning a better way to share documents next time.
