The Kirst Lab is a synthetic biology lab focusing on engineering enzymatic compartmentalization

Bioengineering nanodevices to improve our and the planet's health.

We use synthetic biology and metabolic engineering to construct nanodevices capable of producing complex bioactive molecules from simple chemical building blocks. These can be used as nanomedical deceives or can be integrated as synthetic cellular organelles into photosynthetic organisms for sustainable production of valuable chemical compounds.

We are hiring!

We are looking for interested scientists on all levels that want to join an outstanding, engaged and enthusiastic research team at the excellent research facilities of the IMIBIC in Cordoba, in the beautiful and diverse Andalusia!
