THE VERMONT LAKE MONSTERS
This summer, I'm a Digital Marketing and Promotions intern for the Vermont Lake Monsters. My brother, Cole Riskin, pitched for them in 2024, and I've been going to their games since I was around 5 years old. I've always admired how this baseball park brings together people from near and far, and forms such an amazing community.
I've helped out with promotion on the field, facilitated our games on the radio with Hall Communications, accompanied our lovable mascot Champ, and have had the pleasure of greeting the most amazing sports community I've ever seen.
I can't wait for the rest of this summer, and look forward to many more nights at the ballpark!
QUINNIPIAC ORIENTATION
Last summer, I was an orientation leader for Quinnipiac University. I had seven sessions of 'orienting' first-year students, facilitating activities, ice breakers, and deep conversations to help prepare them for their college experience. It was amazing being able to provide support for those entering a new chapter of their lives, and I haven't had a job more fulfilling.
Apart from my first-year students, I learned how to work alongside 40+ other amazing people and adapt to changing schedules and fast-paced days.
LISTEN IN WITH KNN: PRODUCTION INTERN
I had my first internship this summer with Kelsey Nicole Nelson, owner of the radio show 'Listen in with KNN' on Fox Sports Radio. I worked remotely as a production intern, editing her radio shows for consumption of streaming platforms.
I used different audio softwares and found the most efficient ways to put clips together, and because the internship was remote, I learned more about effective communication.
