Career goals

Short-term (1-3 years)

My short-term goals include gaining more training in point-of-care ultrasound, including taking a longitudinal course through the Society of Hospital Medicine. I also hope to transform our Internal Medicine residency from a Problem Identification Model to a Developmental Model including coaching for every resident. I hope to become a more efficient and experienced reviewer for education journals.

Mid-term (3-5 years)

I hope to gain experience in grant-writing, starting with internal grants that can be used for education projects. I am considering pursuing my PhD in education, though this will depend on available time and funding.

Long-term (5+ years)

With more experience I would like to be a regular reviewer for an education journal, and possibly a lower-tier editor. I would also like to pursue national leadership positions in organizations such as the Med-Peds Program Director Association and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. If I am able to obtain further training, I would like to develop a curriculum for point-of-care ultrasound at CCHMC.
