The Mansion House ~ February 2026

In the heart of the City of London, The Mansion House is the official residence and office of the Lord Mayor of London. It is used for some of the City of London’s most formal official functions, including two annual white tie dinners.

Built between 1739 and 1752, the architecture is in the Palladian style, designed by George Dance the elder. The main reception room is known as the “Egyptian Hall”, so named because the arrangement of columns was deemed to be “Egyptian”, though there are no Egyptian motifs or features.

The Mansion House is home to the Harold Samuel Collection of Dutch and Flemish 17th Century paintings, described as “the finest collection of such works formed in Britain this century”.

The current Lord Mayor is Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley, she is the 697th Lord Mayor of the City of London, the third woman to hold the Office, and the first to be styled “Lady Mayor”. During her year as Lady Mayor, Alderwoman Langley will act as a spokesperson for the City, leading overseas business delegations to key international markets on behalf of the UK financial and professional services industry.
