Monday 24th November, 2pm: "A History of the Christmas Crib", a talk by Tim Everson, local author, examining the nativity manger seen in churches and in many homes every Christmas, from its history in gospel times to today when it takes many forms and styles all over the world.
Copies of his book will be available to buy ... an ideal Christmas present.
Refreshments and time to chat afterwards as usual. £5 for members and friends.
This year’s Christmas three course lunch (with crackers) will be held at Ristorante Sorrento, the same place as last year.

at Princes Avenue and there is a small car park at the rear of the restaurant.
Please meet at the restaurant at 12.00 noon.
The cost of the meal, with a subsidy for KURSA members and partners is £28 each, which includes tips. If you would like to include friends, the cost to them will be the price as shown on the menu plus 10% tips, i.e. £32, which is still a bargain compared to other restaurants.
Payment covers food only. Drinks can be ordered individually and paid for on the day to the restaurant.
As last year, there will be a raffle with proceeds to KURSA.

member or £32 for anyone else. Please note there is no refund as payment has to be
made to the restaurant in advance.

Wednesday 14th January, 2 pm: "Victorian Culinary Delights ~ extravagant, meagre, or deadly?" A talk by Dr Judith Hill, freelance lecturer and researcher.
“In the Victorian era, all classes based their diets on what was grown throughout the different seasons, with the wealthier people supplementing their diet with more expensive food items. There was also a difference between what rural people and urban dwellers ate” (Shona Parker, 2020).

Thursday 12th February, 2pm: “Magna Carta, Runnymede and all that”, a talk by Mike Page, County Archivist at Surrey History Centre.
This illustrated talk will explore the background to the Magna Carta, what happened
afterwards and the later histories of the great charter and the place where it
happened.

Friday 20th March, 2pm: "Swimming in Suburbia", a talk by Lesley North, actress, poet and writer. The theme of Suburbia through a compilation of poems and prose, taking a wry look at family life, food, snobberies, aspirations and all things suburban.
Friday 10th April: A choice! Either ~ A round trip tour of Richmond Park by minibus, or ~ The Honeywood Museum, Carshalton ... choice will depend on demand, both free of charge.
Thursday 23rd April, 2pm: "The Art of Laundry", a talk by Nick Higham.
Thursday 7th May: "Why we celebrate May Day", a talk by Julian McCarthey.
Friday 22nd May: Another choice! Either ~ a visit to The Honeywood Museum, Carshalton or ~ a round trip tour of Richmond Park by minibus ... choice will depend on demand, both free of charge.
June: Visit to Westminster Roman Catholic Cathedral and Onion Garden. Date and details to be arranged.
June: Visit to Barts North Wing (Great Hall and Hogarth Stair) and Hospital Museum. Date and details to be arranged.
July: Visit to Mansion House with guided tour. Date and details to be arranged.
