Greenwich ~ July 2024
Seven KURSA members had an enjoyable day visiting Greenwich for the Queen’s House, the Maritime Museum and the Fan Museum.
At the Queen’s House, Assistant Curator Vittoria Cervini talked about “A ‘lascivious’ painting for the Queen’s Bedchamber?” ~ a scandalous ceiling painting created in Italy for the House, but which never actually made it. Then to the Maritime Museum for the Astronomy Photographer of the Year exhibition, showing 100 of the best photos of the Northern Lights and Space. On to the Fan Museum to see examples of historic and cultural fans.
Most of the group took the fast Thames Clipper back to Embankment, enjoying the sights along the River Thames.
