Douglas Worthen is equally at ease in the baroque repertoire on the traverso flute and in contemporary pieces on the modern flute. His recording of works by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier with harpsichordist Ursula Duetschler received critical acclaim in the American Record Guide, Early Music America, and European publications. During the summers of 2011 and 2012, Worthen taught and performed at the Kammermusik chamber music program in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has performed regularly with the Handel and Haydn Society of Boston, the Mannheim Quartet and numerous ensembles in New England. He made solo tours in Russia Central Europe, and Canada. Worthen is Associate Professor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
