"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."
Helen Keller
Some Risks I've Taken: Attempted a 150 mile ultramarathon - twice. Tried to start an HIV education group - in high school. Cowrote award winning musical about DEI - as a kid. Survived Cancer. Bicycled Seattle to Portland. Produced a live talk show. Ran a law firm. Launched a real estate brokerage. Started a non-profit that's flourishing 20+ years later.
Now, I build trails across the region. I live with my partner of 17 years in a Milwaukie townhome with our cat, Honey. And we've adopted an outdoor cat and her three kittens that we've named Sophia, Dorothy, Rose, and Blanche.
I have a simple outline for my life.
My Purpose: To observe and participate in the beauty of the world, and when possible, leave it better for the next folks.
Critical daily things for me to remember:
Be Present
Breathe, deeply
Everything is Temporary
We are Starstuff
What is my Intention?
I acknowledge myself when I go beyond my comfort zone by choosing a small stretch, taking a big risk, or embarking on a transformative growth experience. I express gratitude for people, places, and events that enrich my experience of the world. Ideally, I write five of each in my journal daily.
