Adoption Process
To adopt through Kindred Hearts-Animal Rescue & Sanctuary please fill out an application. After completing and submitting the application please give up to 7 days before reaching out.
We see and review each application as they come in and we are run solely by volunteers. To process it may take 24 hours to a week to receive approval depending on how fast your references return calls.
After or during the approval process we will request either a video walk-through of your home or an in-home check on the day of meet and greets.
Meet and greets DO NOT happen without an approved application.
You may take your new pet home with you on the day of the meet and greet or home check if approved.
On the day of adoption, there will be a non-refundable rehoming fee for your pet. Please understand, that this fee will not be returned if you return the pet for any reason. These fees are immediately put towards animals in our care that need vetting.
*Our pets are not adoptable unless they are spayed/neutered or have a pending surgery set up with the new owner, which must be verified by the veterinarian doing the surgery.

What do I need to foster an animal in need?
A space large enough to contain a cat box, and feeding station. This space could be a large closet, bathroom, mudroom, apartment (with landlord approval) or a home. Your home can have other pets but, if you do we recommend slow introductions.
If you have pets they must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed or neutered.
We do not allow our adoptable fosters to live outdoors so the space must be indoors and have heat/air conditioning and running water.
We provide cover all medical costs, and food. We also provide their feed dishes and litter box
We do ask that you provide litter for your foster animal.
The only other thing you need is LOVE.
