"In 2023 I was working as an assistant professor at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, and I was pregnant; my leave was planned to start on the 15th of September. However, a new PhD student was starting on the 1st of September. Two colleagues from different universities, who work on the two topics that I was planning to combine in this PhD project, offered to supervise him while I was on leave, and introduce him to those topics, without asking anything in return."
