For the life of me I can't figure out how to uninstall the Kindle Fire Utility drivers. My kindle is rooted, I did it through a tutorial that didn't use the KFU, but I need TWRP, FFF and Google Play installed and can't find a single tutorial that doesn't use KFU to do so. The ADB status is online but below that it says "boot status: unknown". Can't get it to say 4000. I've tried ignoring that and installing anyways but when I try to install using KFU, I get errors saying "waiting for device", my device restarts (doesn't go into fastboot) and it just sits there, every single time. I've restarted the kindle, unplugged it, restarted my comp, etc and nothing is working.

My goal is to get Jellybean onto the kindle but every damn tutorial uses the KFU but the damn thing just doesn't work for me. I even tried it on a laptop and it gave me even more problems. What are my options here? How can I get it to recognize the boot status?

Fire Toolbox v33 is the most recent version of the utility as of December, 2023. I just got the fire HD 10 2021 and it has OS version 7.3.2.2 and Fire Toolbox will not load new launcher. I did load the Play Store, and YouTube. Will I lose those whenever Amazon has a new update? There is no place in Settings to disable OTA updates. Thanks.

First off, I *think* it is a 1st Gen as it has a power button on the bottom, micro USB slot and also sayd kindle on the back. 2nd Gen from what I could tell looks different but I guess its important to know which one I have for sure. Any tips on how I can tell which one this is for sure?

Second, while messing with this, I did something where I tried to put into recovery mode, now when I turn it on it says Kindle Fire, and just sits at that screen forever.

Is there any way to get this fixed up? I have been googling with zero success, so trying to see if someone can help me.

While the first generation kindle may still perform as a decent tablet, it lacks the performance and speed of the newer models. Why not make the device great again by flashing a standard Android ROM to it?

Usage Instructions

Assuming a brand new fire, that has not been unboxed yet. - If you have 5.4.0.0 as the OS version, I would NOT let it update and would run option 1 to block OTA updates (or e for everything).

Unbox Device.

Turn it on, choose your language.

Attempt to join a network but use a bad password!

After using a bad password, hit cancel and skip connecting wifi.

Go into settings, about device, and then you need to tap on the serial number about 10 times to enable developer options.

Enable usb ADB.

Plug into a windows computer, and allow it to connect to the fire (security popup on tablet)

Extract the folder above to your desktop, for example: desktop\fire utility

Inside the folder, run the FileUtility.bat program.

You do no need to run as an administrator.

Choose what you want to do from inside the utility.

Well I got this going and everything works great so thank you! The strange thing is I did it with two fire 8 tablets I bought at the same time and one all the amazon bloatware was removed and on the second one everything worked except removing the amazon apps threw a long list of errors all the amazon apps are still there. I wonder if one had a different update or something causing amazon to block it? Either way this is a nice easy way for everyone to get their setups going!

So, I went to Amazon and checked the Kindle store on a whim. They had the remote and I downloaded it. Then, set to research how to make the Android system work. Amazon says that I have to download the MS Utility at line6.com, but which MS utility (the Kindle is Andriod OS). I've seen a lot of complaining and needing Bluetooth. My Kindle HD doesn't have Bluetooth, but it does have USB.

I have no idea what happens to the Kindle Fire to get it into this state but my sistermanaged to do it and this is how I fixed it. Thanks for the information, on the silk browser not all of the download links showed up for me . So I downloaded them all into a folder on my desktop transfered it to my fire 8 and installed them and it worked great.
