How do I get my child ready for kindergartenÂ
over the summer?
Our overall goal for your child is to learn independence, structure and routines within a classroom setting. These skills will help them gain independence:
zipping and unzipping their backpack, lunchbox, and coat
opening and closing ziploc bags and other snack items
learning to tie their own shoes
These are important things to consider to make the
transition easier for your child:
no nap time by the end of summer
familiarize your child with public restrooms and how to wipe on their own
help your child practice recognizing and writing their name
