Energy Efficiency

People keep inventing new technology that uses electricity, and researching new ways to persuade us to buy these things and spend more on energy. So, it can be helpful to remind ourselves that people have been living in the places that, together, are now called the United Kingdom, for at least 11,000 years. We've survived ice ages better than the woolly mammoths did, despite not having electric heaters back then.  We don't need to be driven by every latest trend (however amazing they are) but we do need to be sensible and to use the resources placed at our disposal with care.

To survive a heat wave we may just need to open windows to create a comfortable breeze, and keep ourselves covered-up to some extent (just as a thermos flask can keep fluids cool as well as hot, so can our clothes prevent us over-heating as much as keeping us warm during the winter months (provided that we don't move around too much and raise our blood temperatures). Why not keep the exercise routines for the cooler evenings and mornings when the energy you burn can help to warm-up the house, or take your daily shower at the hottest time of day using only the cold tap, or batch bake nutritious snacks when it's chilly and energy prices are at their lowest then store them in the freezer to serve ice cool in the heat of the day?

There are lots of things we can do that help to keep our bills less expensive, and our environmental impact more friendly, without compromising our health and wellbeing. Whether we like to think of ourselves as energy and environmental boffins or consider these things way beyond the bounds of our routine competence, there is always more that we can try out, and learn about. Kinder Cultured Ltd likes to design places and things that help to regulate the environments where we live, whether it is a new building, a new interior design, or some new items for the wardrobe (it is no coincidence that our English word for "housing" is part of the same etymological family as "hosiery", garden "hosepipes", as well as the coverings knights of old once draped over their horses to shield them from the worst extremes of the weather when they took to the ancient highways and bridleways to defend our land which were also called "housing").

One good way to learn more about energy efficiency today is to sign-up with an energy company that cares about the environment as well as caring about its customers.  There could easily be more than one such company providing energy in your area, and you might feel spoilt for choice. To thank you for paying an interest in this website and reading about Energy Efficiency here, I would like to present you with a further choice. Octopus Energy does meet the criteria for caring about the environment (providing lots of helpful energy management information for their customers on their website), and they care for their customers by keeping their prices as low as possible and helping customers to manage their own payments. Additionally, they can provide a credit to the accounts of new customers if they sign up with a friend's referral link, because they save money on sales, marketing, administration, and energy, if they receive new customers this way.

So, if you would like to make the switch to Octopus Energy, I am offering you the following referral link that can credit your account with £50 once you are a fully transferred Octopus Customer. Unless you wish to transfer the energy account of a business, in which case Octopus will credit the business account with £100.
