I’m Nettie — archaeologist, classicist, history geek, former primary educator and founder of Kin by Nettie CIC.
I’m interested in the point where people, place and story meet: how we interpret the past, who feels invited into it, and what helps a place or story become meaningful rather than simply informative.
My background crosses archaeology, education, community practice, movement and participatory work. That mix shapes the way I approach heritage: beginning with people, noticing thresholds and looking for ways to make interpretation feel relevant, curious and possible.
Through Kin, I develop and research heritage experiences in museums, landscapes, pubs, woods and community settings — using storytelling, sensory interpretation, objects, making and participation to help people encounter the past in different ways.
I’m particularly interested in belonging, embodied learning, interpretation, access and the extraordinary everyday.
I also collect rubber ducks, Ladybird books and teapots.

“I have been welcomed and made to feel like I fit in from day one.”
“She genuinely cares about people.”
