So a little bit about me: I am originally from Southern California, but I have loved living in Surprise since 2017. I attended University of California at Irvine (go Anteaters!) where I earned my B.A. in English with an Emphasis in Creative Writing: Fiction. I continued my post-B.A. education at California State University at Northridge where I earned my teaching certification in English.Â
2025-2026 will be my fourteenth year working in education. My teaching experience began when I worked with middle school students with special needs, then it progressed to teaching English Language Arts at both the high school and middle school levels (though I must say that teaching middle school is my favorite!).
When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading (yes, for fun), playing guitar, and any outdoor activity: hiking, trail running, backpacking, kayaking, camping. I love exploring the amazing places in our beautiful state, and I enjoy traveling all over our country. I thrive on embarking on new adventures, experiencing new places and cultures, and gaining new insights from the experiences I have therein.
