The Junior Firefighter Program is a vital part of the future success of the Department. It is a basic concept that young men and women, ages 15 through 17, will be recruited and welcomed into the Fire Department with the intent of familiarizing them with the Fire Department organization, train them in overall Fire Department operations, and foster a commitment to community service. It is the hope of the organization that once these young people reach the age of 18 years, they continue their service by becoming active senior members, dedicated not only to the Fire Department, but also to their community; thus maintaining a healthy volunteer organization.

• Be at least 15 Years of age
• Be in at least 8th grade
• Have a good character
