The roots of Kilkenny Cultural Community Initiatives (KCCI) date back to 2022, when a group of volunteers came together to organise cultural, artistic and community activities in Kilkenny. What began as a grassroots initiative quickly evolved into a vibrant network of people dedicated to fostering inclusion, cultural exchange and community connection.
Over the following years, our volunteers organised and participated in a wide range of cultural events, concerts, festivals, charity initiatives and community projects throughout Kilkenny and across Ireland. Through music, arts and shared cultural experiences, we have worked to build bridges between communities, encourage intercultural dialogue and create opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to connect and contribute.
One of our most successful initiatives has been the community choir "Grono", which has brought together people of different nationalities and cultures through a shared love of music. The choir has performed at numerous community and charity events and has become a symbol of friendship, creativity and cultural collaboration.
As our activities continued to grow, so did the need for a sustainable structure that would support the long-term development of our work. In 2026, we formally established Kilkenny Cultural Community Initiatives (KCCI) as a community organisation, enabling us to expand our activities, strengthen partnerships and continue serving the community in a meaningful and sustainable way.
Today, KCCI is a volunteer-led organisation committed to promoting inclusion, cultural diversity and active community participation. Through music, arts, education and community engagement, we continue to create welcoming spaces where people can meet, share experiences and build lasting connections.
The mission of Kilkenny Cultural Community Initiatives (KCCI) is to bring people together through culture, music, creativity and shared community experiences.
We believe that diversity strengthens our community. By creating welcoming spaces where people of different backgrounds can meet, learn from one another and celebrate their cultures, we help build connections, friendships and a sense of belonging.
Through concerts, cultural events, workshops and community projects, KCCI promotes inclusion, mutual understanding and active participation in community life. Our goal is to create opportunities for people to share their talents, traditions and experiences while contributing to a vibrant, connected and supportive Kilkenny.
Together, we are building bridges between cultures and creating a community where everyone feels valued, welcome and empowered to participate.
