Inspired by Brandon Stanton's extraordinary Humans of New York project, I set out to memorialise all the odd and quirky characters I see on my travels and, instead of interviewing them, imagine their stories myself.
Sometimes, an old-school black-and-white filter can make all the difference, transforming the entire narrative of a snapshot whether by shifting the focus or equalising the landscape.
I'm hesitant to call this collection "architectural" as I'm no expert in architecture, but I've always appreciated the motions and feelings uniquely brought to photos by an emphasis on structure, whether simple lines or complex networks.
I make it a point to familiarise myself with this ubiquitous component of every city I visit, as it seems to reveal so much about a city's character, its people and its history.
While the saying usually goes "The eyes are the window to your soul", I've always been fascinated by what the stories are behind each literal window we see, how behind each glass pane or curtain, there is a life being lived which will never be known to most yet invaluable to those who do.
