Use the 1.5mm wire to form the shape according to the template. Do not write or draw on the template. It will be collected back to be re-used. You can also leave the template in the zipped plastic provided and place your wire to check on top of the see-through plastic bag.
Remember to keep the spaces even and always hold the wire where it joins with your thumb and index finger before pulling to keep the shape of the frame. Double check the frame against the template often to make sure it stays in shape too.
Do not cut off the wire or coil excess wire to the frame in a clump. Leave it as it may be used to attach the decorations or join the other parts of the sculpture.
Twist, braid or coil to create colourful and fun decorations to add to your section of the sculpture. You might want to ask your friends what they intend to do for their sections as well so that your sculpture will look coordinated when it is joined.
For butterflies and dragonflies, make 2 similar decorations so that it can be added on the left and right wing at installation. For example, if you braid and make a spiral, make 2 so that one can be attached on the left wing and one to the right wing of the butterfly.
For flowers, you have the option to make repetitive decorations to add to other matching petals as well.
Attach the decorative details and join the different parts of your sculpture together too.
Set the different sections on a table and use a short 5 cm wire remnant colour that matches the frame or weave to twist and join them.
