[Foochow: Ngæ Kiæ Seng ]
"Mathematics is not my career, it is my life."
I am Kie Seng, from Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia🇲🇾. I was nourished at a Chinese-medium primary school, and subsequently, at an English-medium missionary secondary (high) school. I then received my pre-tertiary education at a Malay-medium government matriculation college before pursuing my maths dream at the ANU for honours degree and PhD sponsored by MyBrainSc and AGRTP respectively. Interestingly, I speak Foochow dialect as my mother tongue. Nevertheless, my science and maths are trained in English ever since high school and I value the diversity as well as the tolerance existed among Malaysians of different races. Other than doing calculations wholeheartedly and thinking hard abstractly, I enjoy music (I led marching bands. I play trumpet, drum, bass guitar...I'd like to learn piano properly someday.), play badminton, and love watching TV (perhaps Youtube nowadys).
My obsession with maths germinates from my first encounter with Arabic numerals and perhaps, with Lego® building too! 1,2,3,...Triangle...Symmetry...I am always curious on what's happening in surrounding. Since young, I am keen on observing the nature and beings(Tao道). Personally, I hold a stance that,
"Mathematics is the Natural Philosophy.
I am therefore humble before God, and secondly, maths." —11.09.2021

"If I have seen further, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants."
I am interested in representation theory, categorification, aspects of homological algebra: interplay between topology, symplectic geometry and category of representations of algebras, knot invariant from braid group actions.♾〰️➰➿
I am an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
I was a member of AIM Link Homology research community.
