Education
Kevin wants to fully fund public education, strong public education is key to a successful future for our children and community. He also believes in early childhood learning (universal Pre-K) and supporting teacher's pensions to be fully funded. While he supports the pay raises Kevin also believes that the school districts must have the state fund their unfunded mandates that the state has put onto the school districts. This would free up school funds to help make the raises sustainable along with giving the school districts more opportunities. Supporting the teachers and school staff is essential for recruiting and retention of teachers, knowing they are supported and they will have a pension is important to retaining qualified staff.
Public Safety
Coming from a law enforcement background Kevin believes that our regulation for law enforcement elected officials needs restructuring. As to the requirements to hold the office’s search as requiring a high school diploma or GED, one can not be a convicted felon. Kevin in protecting police officer's retirement package as well as supporting law enforcement officers who have retired and want to go back into law enforcement or those who are certified part-time, should receive the incentive pay as the other officers do. Kevin believes that recruiting and retaining qualified law enforcement is crucial to the future of any community.
Health Care
Kevin believes that health care is critical to a community's well-being. Having the opportunity to good health care as well as mental health support should be easily available and affordable to all without any stigmatism. This is important to every person, community, and business in the Commonwealth.
Environment
Environmental Friendly Development is something that Kevin is vested in. There must be an impact to all development but how big the impact is we can and should be very mindful of, with the least amount of impact being to our environment.
Kevin is a very approachable person with an open-door policy mindset and believes in talking through problems to a successful solution rather than just objections or passing the problem off. He has always been the type of person who believes that you shouldn't let the little problems get in the way and take the big problems head-on.
