Kevin is a native of Scott County Ky., and has devoted his life to serving his community and state. Kevin grew up in Stamping Ground, Ky. The son of Clayton and Elizabeth Kidwell,  He is a retiree after 20 years of law enforcement, Kevin is married to Stephanie Childers Kidwell they have been married for 28 years with 4 children. Kevin knows the meaning of sacrifice, hard work, and service above self-interest at an early age and has never abandoned those core values. After graduating from Scott Co. High School he attended The Department of Criminal Justice at Eastern Kentucky University for law enforcement. After graduating he started full time as a police officer serving and protecting his community. Kevin has been devoted to community service and education working with 4-H as a volunteer livestock leader, serving on several agriculture boards, and was elected to the Scott County Board of Education where he served for 8 years. Where he advocated for more and new Career and Technical Education courses.  While helping to build the badly needed Great Crossing High School as well as several additions to other school facilities and planning for the future. While Scott County is growing by leaps and bounds. He constantly encouraged out-of-the-box thinking looking at the future of Scott Co. Throughout his career he remains focused on improving, opportunities and education that serve the best interest of the entire community. Kevin is a very approachable person with an open-door policy mindset and believes in talking through problems to a successful solution rather than just objections or passing the problem off. He has always been the type of person who believes that you shouldn't let the little problems get in the way and take the big problems head-on.
