In an interview, this week with Amy Nagel, an instructional coach at Fort Wayne, said "I was hacked last week. Someone used my picture and stole my identity. They also stole money from my debit card." But she wasn't the only one hacked. Her nieces have also been hacked by Venmo.
Officer Kyle Young said that identity theft is a very common issue. He feels that the government doesn't do much to prevent identity theft, but takes action to get identities back after the theft happens.
We will host a meeting to present the facts to the Board of Education to persuade them to share information with the parents and students about online safety for youth at schools' open houses.
We will also hand out flyers to schools and around town containing a QR code that leads people to our website. The website will have the same information for the families that don't make it to the open house.
