Studying in a different city was always my dream, and I did everything to achieve it. Honestly, when I got admission in St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, my mind just blew away. It didn’t felt real, but eventually it was. I began my search for a perfect place for me to stay. I came across several options of PG near St. Xavier’s College Mumbai, but no one felts my home away from home, and that is when I heard about The Hive Hostels from one of my friend, after researchnig about it, I immediately knew that this is where I want to stay. After seeing their rooms, I finalised it, but I made some changes to the room to make the space feel like home. In this blog, I am going to discuss the changes I made to my room.
I made some changes in my room, and the first thing that I did was to make it feel more personal. I added some plants to give it a natural look. I even added some of the photos and wallpapers to give me a room with an aesthetic look. You can also add things like quilts and plush toys to give your room a familiar look.
If you are living in any hostel near Jai Hind College or a PG in Fort Mumbai, then you can start making community bonds, which will help make your stay an easy one. At our hostel, we used to have late-night sessions and movie nights to build bonds with people and new entries as well.
When my little sister was living in a girls hostel in Fort Mumbai, she told me about some tips to do a comfort routine to reduce stress. That is when I understood why it is compulsory to have a place that is comforting and relaxing. To do so, I added some soft rugs, air fresheners, and scented candles to make a relaxing environment in my room.
Moving to a hostel can make you feel homesick, and that is why it is necessary to carry things that make you feel at home. I used to carry some of my favourite snacks, schedule a call with my family, and used to go out whenever I felt homesick.
Hostel life can be scary, but at the same time, it is exciting. To get the best hostel life, it is necessary to choose a hostel that gives you a feeling of “home away from home,” and this was the feeling I got when I moved into The Hive Hostels. So if you want to get this feeling as well, you know who to choose.
