Education and Academic Background
My academic journey began at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) in Uzbekistan, where I graduated with honors in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in International Economics. I subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management with honors from the University of Flensburg, Germany, in 1999.
From 2007 to 2011, I pursued doctoral studies at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. Upon successfully defending my dissertation—which focused on price theory, income distribution, and capital accumulation—I was awarded a Doctorate in Economics (Dr. rer. pol.).
Government and Policy Experience
Between 2000 and 2005, I served as a Senior Economist and later as Deputy Head of Department at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan. My career in strategic policy continued from 2018 to 2020, where I worked as a Senior Economist at the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) under the Administration of the President. Concurrently, I led the Strategic Planning Project at the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research (IFMR), overseeing medium- and long-term macroeconomic forecasting.
Academic Career and Teaching
I have held several senior faculty positions at Uzbekistan’s leading institutions. From 2012 to 2017, I was a Professor of Systems Analysis and Managerial Decision-Making Theory at Tashkent State University of Law, and later a Professor of Management at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. More recently, from 2023 to 2024, I was a Professor of Economic Sciences at the Fiscal Institute under the Tax Committee, where I delivered courses in the History of Economic Thought, Management Theory, and Econometrics.
My international teaching experience includes serving as a Professor of Economics and Statistics at the International School of Economics and Finance (ISEF), University of London/LSE affiliate in Tashkent (2020–2022). Since 2025, I have been a Professor of Statistics at the George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology, Webster University in Tashkent.
Consultancy and Research
Beyond academia, I have served as a consultant and advisor for major international organizations, including the UNDP, ADB, and WB, focusing on socio-economic policy and international applied research projects. I am the author of over 50 scholarly articles and research reports. My primary research interests encompass price formation, income distribution, capital accumulation, inclusive economic development, labor market dynamics, and managerial decision-making theory.
