BST Seniors

Message from Vice Principal Dr. Shannon Garcia

Greetings, Class of 2020!

Although this year is coming to a very unusual end, I want to take a moment to appreciate and applaud the hard work, perseverance, and innovative spirit with which you’ve tackled your last year at Kearny BST. You are the first official graduating class of Kearny Biomedical Science and Technology, which makes this graduating class even more special than you already are. You didn’t just help us pick our name - you helped make us who we are, and along with your teachers, counselor, and support staff, have raised our game as a school with an innovative, creative, and team-building spirit for which we are grateful. We feel lucky to have been a part of your team and your journey - some just for the year, others for all four years. But each and every one of you is appreciated for your individual gifts and contributions to Kearny BST.

This is a proud moment in time for everyone in your life. From the moment you arrived, we and your loved ones have supported and cheered you on, because we care and want you to raise your game to the highest level. As you move out into the world, I want to encourage you to continue to be the risk-takers and hard workers we’ve seen at Kearny BST. In the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, “You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” Go for that degree, that job, and that life you’ve dreamed of - because as in the words of Henry Ford, whether you think you can or you think you can’t - you’re right. Never let anyone tell you who you are or what you are capable of - only you get to decide what your limitations are. In the words of Michelle Obama, “There is no magic to achievement. It’s really about hard work, choices, and persistence.” You can do it - your Kearny team believes in you.

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!

Dr. Shannon Garcia

As a 9th grader (I think I met you in 9th grade?!) you already had the intellect, the work ethic, and the maturity. As I saw you around campus over the next few years, I saw you gain poise and an outgoing personality. Now you're the total package! I look forward to hearing of your future success!"
