Welcome to Khmer Kid ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of your family. This Privacy Policy explains how the Khmer Kid mobile application ("App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service.
By using Khmer Kid, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy.
2.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Khmer Kid is designed as a local-first app. The following data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
Parent and child profile information (names, date of birth, gender, avatar)
Child learning progress, stars, and earned certificates
Growth records (height, weight, head circumference)
Sleep and feeding tracking records
Vaccine history and checklist progress
Delivery preparation checklist progress
Child development milestone tracking
Baby milestone notes
Lullaby favorites
App preferences and settings
This data remains entirely on your device. We do not have access to it, and it is not shared with any third party.
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the App, we may collect limited non-personal technical data including:
App crash reports and error logs (for debugging purposes)
General app usage patterns (anonymized)
2.3 Purchase Information
If you make a one-time purchase to unlock full access, the transaction is processed by Apple App Store. We use RevenueCat to verify and manage purchase entitlements. RevenueCat may collect:
A randomized app user ID (not linked to your name or email)
Purchase receipt data for validation
We do not store your payment details. All billing is handled by Apple.
Khmer Kid is designed for use by children aged 2–6 under direct parental supervision.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
All child profile data (name, age, progress) is entered by parents and stored locally on the device only.
We do not display behavioral advertising to children.
We do not allow children to make in-app purchases without parental approval.
Our app is configured with child-directed treatment settings for advertising (see Section 5).
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable international children's privacy laws.
We use the information described above to:
Provide and improve the Khmer Kid learning experience
Display age-appropriate content and lessons
Track learning progress locally for the child and parent
Verify in-app purchases and restore access
Fix bugs and improve app performance
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
The free version of Khmer Kid may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob.
Ads are configured with child-directed treatment enabled
Only G-rated, family-safe ads are requested
App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission is requested on iOS before any personalized ads are shown
If you decline ATT, only non-personalized ads are shown
Ads are completely removed for users who purchase full access

All personal and family data is stored locally on your device using encrypted SQLite storage
Public app content (lessons, stories, articles) is fetched from Supabase over secure HTTPS connections
We do not operate user accounts or store passwords
We do not transmit health data (growth, sleep, feeding) to any server
Since all personal data is stored locally on your device:
You can delete all app data at any time by going to Settings → Reset All Data inside the app
Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data from your device
We do not retain copies of your personal data on our servers because we never receive it
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Delete your personal data
Opt out of personalized advertising (via ATT prompt on iOS)
Withdraw consent at any time
Since all personal data is stored locally, you have full control at all times. For any privacy concerns, contact us at the email below.
Khmer Kid is designed primarily for Cambodian families. If you are using the App from outside Cambodia, please note that your data is processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy regardless of your location.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
