Welcome to Kharcha Bachao ("the App", "we", "our", or "us").

Kharcha Bachao is a personal expense tracking and budgeting application designed to help users manage their daily finances, track spending, and monitor their savings — all entirely on their own device.

We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains clearly and transparently what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

The most important thing to know: Kharcha Bachao does NOT collect, transmit, store, or share your personal or financial data with us or any third party. Your data stays on your device. Always.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be completely transparent. Kharcha Bachao does not collect any of the following:

• ❌ Device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID, device fingerprint)

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

All data you enter in the App — including expense records, budget amounts, sheet titles, dates, item names, and notes — is stored exclusively on your device using local device storage (AsyncStorage / localStorage).

This means:

• Your data is never uploaded to any cloud, database, or remote server

• Your data is never accessible to us or any third party

• Your data is automatically deleted if you uninstall the App

• Your data is your property — we have zero access to it

4. App Permissions

Kharcha Bachao may request the following Android permissions. Here is exactly why each is needed:

4.1 Storage / Media Access (Optional)

• Why: Only if the user chooses to attach a photo receipt to an expense item.

• What we do: The selected photo is saved locally on your device only. It is never uploaded anywhere.

• When asked: Only when you tap the "Add Photo" feature. Never automatically.

4.2 Camera Access (Optional)

• Why: Only if the user wants to take a photo of a receipt directly from the App.

• What we do: Photo is saved to your local device storage only. Never transmitted.

• When asked: Only on explicit user action.

No other permissions are requested or required to use the App.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

5.1 No Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your data to any third party, advertiser, analytics company, or government entity.

5.2 User-Initiated Sharing (WhatsApp / Share Sheet)

The App includes an optional feature that allows you to share a summary of your expense sheet via Android's native Share Sheet (for example, to WhatsApp, SMS, or email).

Important clarifications about this feature:

• This sharing is entirely initiated and controlled by you

• The App does not know where you shared the content

• The App does not track, log, or store your sharing activity

• Once you share via the Android Share Sheet, the content is governed by the receiving app's privacy policy (e.g., WhatsApp's privacy policy)

• We have no involvement in what happens after you share

5.3 No Advertising or Analytics SDKs

Kharcha Bachao does not integrate any of the following:

• Google AdMob or any advertising network

• Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or any analytics SDK

• Facebook SDK or Meta Pixel

• Crashlytics or any remote crash reporting tool

• Any behavioral tracking or user profiling service

6. Data Security

Although all your data is stored only on your device and we have no access to it, we encourage you to take these steps to keep your data safe:

• Keep your Android device updated with the latest security patches

• Use a screen lock (PIN, pattern, fingerprint, or face lock) on your device

• Be careful when using the WhatsApp share feature in public places

• Back up your device regularly using Android's built-in backup features

If you lose your device or uninstall the App, your expense data cannot be recovered by us as we do not store it anywhere.

7. Children's Privacy

Kharcha Bachao is intended for general audiences and is suitable for users of all ages, including those under 13 years of age.

Because the App does not collect any personal information from any user regardless of age, it is inherently compliant with:

• COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)

• GDPR-K (Children's data provisions under GDPR)

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, this is not a concern.

8. Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Data is retained as long as the App is installed on your device

• You can delete individual expense sheets at any time from within the App

• Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored App data

• We retain nothing on our end because we store nothing on our end

9. Your Rights

Even though we do not collect personal data, we respect your rights as a user:

• Right to Access: All your data is visible to you directly in the App at all times

• Right to Delete: You can delete any or all records directly in the App, or uninstall the App

• Right to Portability: You can export/share your data using the built-in share feature

• Right to Know: This Privacy Policy tells you everything about our data practices

10. Offline Functionality

Kharcha Bachao is designed to work fully offline without any internet connection. All core features — creating sheets, adding expenses, viewing analytics, calculating balances — work without internet.

An internet connection is only used for:

• Downloading the App from the Play Store (one time)

• Loading Google Fonts for UI (optional, cached after first load)

No financial data, expense records, or personal information is ever transmitted over the internet.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in the App's features or applicable laws. When we do:

• The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised

• If changes are significant, we will notify users via an in-app notice on next launch

• Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy
