Cartersville HIGH SCHOOL

Kate Hacker

Welcome Statement

My name is Kate Hacker, and I am a Senior at Cartersville High School. I am an extremely hard working student who strives to excel in everything she does and who takes pride in being involved in her high school. I have held the position of Vice President for my class for my entire high school career. In this position, I have to fulfill many responsibilities and skills such as leading my peers, organizing school functions, and collecting money for fundraisers, shirt orders, or events. I am also involved in Beta Club where I have taken the role of Special Events Coordinator to coordinate different volunteer events that help our community. Being involved in my community is extremely important to me, and it is why I have also been a member of Interact Club and Healthcare Occupations Students of America. My role of leadership in these clubs brought me the opportunity to serve on my school's Principal's Leadership Team. These skills of being able to represent a body of students, organization, and leadership will be extremely crucial to future career and job opportunities. This is why I have chosen to participate in the Work-Based Learning Program at CHS. Work Based Learning involves a lot of responsibility, maturity, and independence in that it trusts students to leave school to go to their jobs, whether it's related to their career pathway or not. I work at Riley's Menswear, a local store in Cartersville, Georgia that sells men's clothing and rents out tuxes and suits for formal events. I have been a Sale's Associate here for a year, and in this position, I have to have superb customer service, be able to work a point of sale system, and be able to advertise our business on social media. I am looking to major in Mass Communications where I will be able to plan events and help present information to a large group of people. My Career Portfolio showcases my skills of leadership, organization, and being an extrovert during my Work Based Learning experience.
