Altyn-Arashan – The Jewel of Issyk-Kul
Altyn-Arashan (meaning "Golden Healing" in Kyrgyz) is one of the most beautiful and iconic natural attractions in Kyrgyzstan. Located just 30–40 km south of Karakol, this alpine valley enchants visitors with its breathtaking mountain landscapes, hot mineral springs, and peaceful atmosphere.
Getting There
Reaching Altyn-Arashan is an adventure in itself. The route winds through lush meadows, pine forests, and across mountain rivers. Due to the rough terrain, a 4x4 vehicle is required. In summer, hiking or horseback riding is also a popular and scenic option.
Hot Springs
Altyn-Arashan is famous for its natural hot springs, with waters reaching temperatures of up to 50°C. Rich in radon and other minerals, the springs are believed to have therapeutic properties — especially beneficial for joint and skin health. You can enjoy the baths in cozy wooden cabins or outdoors with a stunning mountain view.
Nature & Activities
Surrounded by soaring peaks, including the legendary Peak Palatka (5,020 m), Altyn-Arashan offers a perfect setting for:
