It’s the 49th anniversary of 1975’s KG-1 !!! What better anniversary than the 49th to return to a location very close to the KG-1 site? (Some might argue that a “round” number like 50 or 60 is better, but an anniversary number like “50” would not end in “0” to those who count with 8 digits, 12 digits or even [like the Babylonians] 60 digits. The number 49 is a perfect square, and would still be a square, regardless of the number of digits on your hands.) I also look forward to the perfect square 64th KG anniversary, KG-65 in 2039. (If you’re Babylonian and count on your 60 fingers, the 2039 KG will be the perfect square “14th”(base60) anniversary, KG number “15”(base60). Maybe we’ll all live in some senior residence housing for musicians by then... Anyone wanna pitch in and buy [at some point in the next couple years] someplace [like the Copalis Echos of the Sea motel?] to eventually run it as a small senior residence specifically for musicians???)
So, KG-50 will be in-person, at Copalis Beach, WA. We have fully rented both the Echoes of the Sea motel and its campground next door:
Aug. 2, 3, 4, 5 (Fri. - Mon.).
The motel’s website: echoescopalis.com . For info on the 8 rooms we’ve already rented for KGers (or if you have more questions) email Robert Force at rolefo@gmail.com .
The address: 3208 WA 109, Copalis Beach, WA 98535
Here’s where you can download or look at the PDF invitation flyer for KG-49: KG50flyer.pdf or KG50flyer.jpg
Note that we expect two concerts this time. It’s likely going to be a bit bigger group this year, because some folks who’ve missed some recent KG’s are already planning to come to this perfect square 49th anniversary KG !
· Extra info, not on the flyer:
In response to my questions, Robert added:
The eight cartoon cars on the map, indicating parking in front of the motel, should not be interpreted to mean there are only eight parking spaces available. There is plenty of parking for those who are tent camping or who wish to sleep in their parked car.
I asked whether the stoves and fridges in the “food preparer” rooms would be available to those not staying in the motel. He answered “Reefers are in rooms. BBQ’s are outside. Food can be shared in the reefers.” (I assume in this context “reefers” is short for refrigerators, rather than what might be found at the Den of Iniquity...)
I also asked if there was an on-site KG cell phone contact number which has been tested at the site. He replied that his (Robert’s) cell number would be an on-site contact number: 1-360-774-6117 (Also find the motel’s phone number on their website linked near the top of this page.)
There may be no need for me to create a map flyer PDF this year, but if I decide to make one, a link to it will be available here, on this page.

The two of us who hosted a one-day “part2” on Zoom on the Saturday a week after the in-person 2022 KG are planning to attend the in-person KG this year. We are not now planning to do any KG-50 “following weekend part2” Zoom this year. But we can assist anybody who wants to have one. The Zoom URL used in 2022 is available to use with no work on your part, and I would post the info here and send out an email announcement for you. And the same Google Docs Bulletin Board is still there to be used again. (Updating the Bulletin Board for reuse would take only a little bit of work on your part.)
